People who are new to vaping or who prefer a vaping setup that produces a very strong throat hit often start with MTL tanks because this is how you smoke cigarettes. Users of MTL tanks typically prefer higher-nicotine e-liquids to maximise the “throat hit” effect.
You should make sure your vape mod and the tank you intend to purchase use the same thread style before making your purchase. 510 threading is standard for most tanks and mods, so you shouldn’t have any trouble there. It’s also important that your vape mod can handle the tank’s suggested power setting. Furthermore, MTL tanks typically require very little power, so you shouldn’t run into any difficulties there.
Hydrostatic Lung Tank (DTL Tank)
In order to facilitate deep inhalation directly into the lungs, a direct-to-lung vape tank is a tank-style vape atomizer with very large airflow vents and a wide mouthpiece. Due to the large clouds of vapour they produce, DTL vape tanks are not recommended for use with high-nicotine e-liquids. You can still enjoy vaping even if you reduce the amount of nicotine in your e-liquid and use a direct-to-lung (DTL) tank. You’ll still get the right amount of nicotine and be completely satisfied thanks to the massive clouds produced by a DTL tank.
For those who would rather not experience a throat hit similar to smoking, direct-to-lung tanks are the way to go. Because of the low nicotine strength of e-liquid, a direct-to-lung (DTL) tank can produce enormous clouds while providing only a mild throat hit.
